A Visit to South Carolina

Odometer at beginning of the day = 40061

We headed out at 6:55am and rode Rt. 28 to South Carolina today. This road has a great stretch. The "smoke" across the tops of the mountains affords a breathtaking scene that you never cease to be in awe of. We rode though a section of "smoke" and it is so wow! Drove in beautiful South Carolina and back up into Georgia where we stopped for a bite and a break about 9:45 a.m. Eastern time. We rode back to the resort and realized there are no ugly roads here! Back at the resort we were coming back from a walk and saw a huge woodpecker pecking the ground eating bugs. It was the size of a small chicken! Not at all like the little ones we have seen around home.

This is our last night at the Fontana Resort, so we enjoy our last great dinner at their restaurant. We will definitely stay here when we come through this area again.

Odometer at end of the day = 40310

Miles ridden today = 249
